We organized a mini contest for the best wallpaper (1280×1024) at FreeStuff’s forums some days ago and we are posting the results today here. There were no rules or guidelines in this contest. Anybody could take part and post his/her creation. We had 17 contesters and we showcase the Top 10 creations based on Freestuff’s users.

Nokia Competition Shows That Crowdsourcing Sucks For The Crowd
This is controversial because the winner of the competition had done work for Wieden Kennedy and Nokia, but won the competition. Also, PSFK states that there is a growing resentment within the creative community about the use of crowdsourcing due to the feeling of ideas being exploited without compensation. Something to keep in mind. Reminds me of some of the ideas we've had for contests with Worth 1000.

Game Trailers' Promo Boasts Rock-Steady Beat
"Virtual Rock Bank Contest," challenges users to upload videos of themselves playing one of the five instruments used on MTV Rock Band, a popular multi-player game. Competition winners will get to perform in a custom Rock Band video.
Rebecca Keczkowski, vp, of digital integrated marketing at Spike Digital, said the contest is intended to reinforce the brand's status as "a part of pop culture, music and gaming."
